Raphinha’s stunning goal in Barcelona’s 4-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday has leveled him with Lionel Messi in a remarkable Champions League achievement.
With this dominant performance at home, Barcelona is almost certain to secure a place in the semi-finals.
“Raphinha, along with Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal, all found the back of the net in a commanding team effort,” as highlighted in the article.
Raphinha opened the scoring, finishing off Pau Cubarsi’s flick just before the ball crossed the line.
“Lewandowski, a former Dortmund player, extended Barcelona’s lead with a brace,” the article adds, “and Yamal sealed the victory with a goal of his own.”
In addition to his goal, Raphinha contributed two assists one for Lewandowski and one for Yamal.
This brings his tally to 19 direct goal involvements in the Champions League this season (50 in total across all competitions).
“This puts him level with Messi’s record of 19 goal involvements from the 2011-12 season,” as mentioned in the article by Ifreke Inyang.
