Over hundred people who were killed in Friday’s massive fuel tanker explosion in Sierra Leone’s capital, Freetown, have been buried in a mass ceremony, the government said Monday while urgently appealing for blood donations to help in the treatment of those who sustained severe injuries.

According to the Health Ministry, over hundred burnt people are being treated, but there is growing fear that blood supplies might run out soon.

On Friday, Sierra Leone made headlines in international media after a tanker collided with a lorry in the capital, killing over 91 people at once, while injuring dozens.
