Spain’s World Cup Final Preparations Hit by Storms
Spain’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final suffered a late setback on Saturday after severe thunderstorms forced the cancellation of the team’s final outdoor training session ahead of its showdown with Argentina.

FIFA said the session at the Melanie Lane Training Ground in New Jersey was called off in line with United States weather safety protocols, leaving Spain without its last scheduled workout on the pitch before the final.
The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said the players remained active by completing warm-up routines and light fitness exercises indoors after the outdoor session was abandoned. No replacement training session was scheduled.

The weather disruption comes just hours before Spain faces Argentina in Sunday’s World Cup final, with both football giants aiming to end the tournament by lifting the sport’s most coveted trophy.
FIFA has not confirmed whether Argentina’s training session, scheduled later on Saturday, will also be affected, as weather conditions continue to be monitored.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup final is set for Sunday at 3:00 p.m. local time (7:00 p.m. GMT), bringing to a close the first edition of the tournament jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
