Super Falcons’ Ashleigh Plumptre Exposes Shocking Online Impersonation Scams Targeting Her Fans”
Ashleigh Plumptre, the talented England-born defender for Nigeria’s Super Falcons, has sounded the alarm over a growing number of online impersonators.
The 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) saw the Super Falcons triumph 3-0 over Tunisia in their opening match, with Plumptre playing a pivotal role in keeping the opposition at bay and helping Nigeria top Group B.
But it wasn’t just the victory that was on her mind. In an interview following the match, Plumptre revealed a concerning trend: “There have been numerous cases where people are pretending to be me online, using my name to spread false information,” she said.
She specifically pointed to a fraudulent Facebook account that has been making the rounds, promising users money and other rewards. “That account is definitely not mine. It’s been flagged, but it keeps popping back up,” she added.
The Super Falcons defender stressed that any active Facebook profiles under her name are fake. “I do have a personal Facebook account, but I haven’t used it in years,” Plumptre clarified, urging fans to be cautious and aware of the scams circulating in her name.
