Robin van Persie has been appointed as the new manager of Feyenoord after parting ways with Heerenveen. His contract with the club runs until June 2027.
Van Persie, a former player for Feyenoord, expressed his excitement about returning, saying, “Everyone knows how special my bond with Feyenoord is.” He will be joined by assistant coach Rene Hake, who briefly worked under Erik ten Hag at Manchester United this season.
Feyenoord’s general manager, Dennis te Kloese, praised Van Persie’s fit for the role, stating, “We are delighted that with Robin van Persie we can appoint a true club icon as the new coach.”
Van Persie’s experience, both internationally and at Feyenoord, is seen as crucial in helping the club achieve its goals. His style of play, which emphasizes aggressive and tenacious football, aligns well with the club’s philosophy.
Van Persie, who had previously committed to Heerenveen for two years, will now take charge of Feyenoord, currently third in the Dutch league, as they aim for success in both domestic and European competitions, including their upcoming Champions League clash with Inter Milan.
