A road accident claimed three lives and left two others critically injured on Tuesday evening at the Toyota Bus Stop along the Oshodi Expressway in Lagos State.
The incident occurred when a commercial bus, reportedly speeding, lost control near the busy Ladipo area. The vehicle veered off the road, hitting five unsuspecting pedestrians before catching fire. Three victims died instantly, while two others sustained severe injuries and were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
According to Africaworldnews, the scene drew a crowd of horrified witnesses who described the event as both tragic and avoidable. Many pointed to the dangerous driving practices common among commercial drivers in the area as a contributing factor.
In the aftermath, concerned residents renewed calls for the government to implement urgent safety measures, including the construction of pedestrian bridges and stricter traffic enforcement along the Oshodi corridor to prevent further loss of life.
