By Valentine Uchechukwu Ndukwu.

I cannot help the temptation of beginning this article with a passionate plea for us not to alter historical facts.

This is so because Today in History has shown that history provides the essential foundation for understanding the present, shaping identity, and learning from past mistakes.

Erasing or minimizing historical events, whether on a personal, cultural, or global scale, strips away crucial context needed for informed decision-making and genuine progress.

Kindly scroll down for some schooling on some historical events that went down on this day in history

On this day in 1998, Nigeria’s military dictator, General Sani Abacha, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 54 in the presidential villa in Abuja, reportedly from a heart attack.
