Trump Raises Alarm Again, Warns of ‘Existential Threat’ to Christianity in Nigeria

United States President Donald Trump has once again warned that Christianity is under an “existential threat” in Nigeria, vowing that his government will not look away while what he described as atrocities continue.

In a video shared by the White House on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Trump repeated claims that thousands of Christians were being killed in Nigeria. The clip also featured portions of his earlier statements about alleged religious persecution in the country.

Accompanying the video was a message quoting Trump:
“Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening there, and in numerous other countries. We stand ready, willing, and able to save our great Christian population around the world.”

This marks the third time President Trump has issued such a warning about Nigeria in recent weeks. Earlier, he had designated the country as one of “particular concern” and hinted at possible military intervention if the violence persists.

Trump accused the Nigerian government of failing to protect religious minorities, particularly Christians.

However, Abuja has repeatedly dismissed these allegations, insisting that there is no organized persecution of any faith group in the country.

A video of Trump’s latest remarks has since gone viral, sparking fresh debate over U.S.–Nigeria relations and the implications of his continued warnings.
