UEL: Iheanacho Shines for Celtic as McFadden Praises Stunning Goal
Kelechi Iheanacho continued his bright start at Celtic with a well-taken goal in the club’s 1-1 draw against Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Europa League on Wednesday.
The Nigerian forward came off the bench in the second half and wasted no time making an impact. He controlled a precise pass from Benjamin Nygren with a deft first touch before calmly placing the ball into the far corner at the Rajko Mitic Stadium.
Former Everton striker James McFadden, speaking on BBC Sportsound, hailed the quality of Iheanacho’s strike.
“First of all, what a first touch it is. He kills it dead and then reverses it into the far corner. The first touch makes it, it’s incredible. A really composed finish, too,” McFadden said.
Iheanacho, who joined the Scottish champions from Middlesbrough on a free transfer in the summer, has already registered two goals and one assist in just three appearances.
His quick adaptation has further strengthened hopes that he will be a key figure in Celtic’s domestic and European campaigns this season.
