Lusaka, August 24, 2023 – The United Party for National Development (UPND) is celebrating a momentous two-year tenure in power, marked by transformative changes that have captured the hearts of Zambians. With an overwhelming victory in the elections, President Hichilema’s administration has not only reinvigorated the nation’s prospects but also solidified its commitment to progress.

President Hichilema’s visionary leadership has seen the revival of the education sector through the reintroduction of free education, a bold move that emphasizes the value of empowering the nation’s youth. The president’s dedication to economic stability has resulted in a successful debt restructuring deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), demonstrating a keen understanding of financial intricacies.

One of the most significant achievements under President Hichilema’s tenure is the boost to grassroots development, reflected in the increased constituency development fund. This commitment to decentralized growth ensures that local communities benefit directly from the nation’s progress.

The administration’s unwavering stance against political cadres has ushered in an era of political decorum and respect for the rule of law. This demonstrates President Hichilema’s dedication to fostering a harmonious and inclusive political climate.

However, challenges remain, notably in addressing the price of mealie meal, a staple food in the country. While the administration has made remarkable strides in numerous areas, finding a solution to this issue remains a priority.

As the UPND celebrates this milestone, President Hichilema expressed his gratitude, stating, “Two years ago, the people of Zambia showcased the potency of our democracy and the resilience of our citizens. Harnessing your well-known industriousness, we will join forces to propel our nation forward and achieve our shared aspirations.”

With two years of governance that have reshaped Zambia’s trajectory, the UPND and President Hichilema have undeniably charted a course towards progress, unity, and prosperity for all Zambians. As the nation looks forward to the future, the transformative journey continues, guided by the vision and dedication of a leadership committed to its citizens’ well-being.
