The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Malian coach Eric Chelle as the new head coach of the Super Eagles.
Chelle replaces Finidi George, who resigned after poor World Cup qualifiers. NFF President Ibrahim Gusau stated, “All terms have been agreed upon,” as Chelle takes charge ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The team will begin their campaign against Benin Republic on September 7 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Chelle’s selection, chosen over other candidates like Tom Saintfiet and Steve McClaren, is seen as a fresh start for the Super Eagles. His international experience is expected to bring new strategies to the team, with fans hopeful for a strong performance in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers.
