A ravaging crash occurred on Sunday when an Indian Coast Guard helicopter, an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv, went down in Gujarat’s Porbandar, leaving all three crew members dead.
The accident took place during a routine training flight around 12:10 p.m. local time, after the helicopter reportedly experienced technical difficulties.
The crash resulted in a fiery explosion, and though the crew members were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, they did not survive.
“Unfortunately, all the three crew members have lost their lives,” confirmed Bhagirath Singh Jadeja, a senior police officer in the area.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the tragic accident, as local news outlets showed black smoke billowing from the crash site at Porbandar airport.
