Davido Shares the One Thing Fame Must Never Take Away

Fame may bring wealth, recognition and influence, but Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, says there is one thing every aspiring artiste should never lose along the way—their faith in God.

Speaking during a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, the award-winning singer encouraged young musicians to remain committed to God even after achieving success.

He said the entertainment industry is full of temptations that can easily distract artistes and make them forget the foundation that helped them reach the top.

“My advice for up-and-coming artistes is first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time.

When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me,” Davido said. “Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here.”

Davido’s remarks come at a time when conversations around faith and celebrity life continue to grow, with several entertainers admitting that success changed their spiritual routines.

His message to rising artistes was simple: talent and hard work may open doors, but holding on to faith is what helps keep success in perspective.
