WATCH: They Said My Husband Is Not Man Enough to Father a Child — Aproko Doctor’s Wife
Chef Amaka, wife of Nigerian health influencer Aproko Doctor, has addressed the emotional toll of rumours that circulated shortly after their marriage, falsely suggesting that her husband was responsible for their delayed conception.

She explained that the speculation began when the couple did not immediately have a child after getting married, with many people quickly jumping to conclusions about fertility issues on her husband’s side.
According to her, the reality was completely different. Amaka revealed that she was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) after noticing she had missed her menstrual cycle a few months into the marriage.
The condition, she said, affected her body and made conception difficult.

She recounted how painful the rumours became, especially the attacks directed at her husband’s masculinity.
“They said my husband is not man enough to father a child,” she said, describing how deeply the statement affected her emotionally.
Amaka also shared that PCOS brought visible physical changes, including weight gain and a broader upper body, which led to further mockery and insensitive comments from outsiders. Some even mocked their marriage by referring to her as “the man of the house.”
Despite the harsh judgment, she stressed that the rumours were false and rooted in misunderstanding.

She said the experience was emotionally draining but ultimately clarified that the delay in conception had nothing to do with Aproko Doctor’s fertility.
