Carlo Ancelotti believes Kylian Mbappe has the potential to reach the level of Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid’s all-time top scorer. He remarked, “Ronaldo set an incredibly high standard with 451 goals in 438 games, but Mbappe has the talent and determination to match those achievements.”

Ancelotti also praised the team’s collective effort, stating, “While Mbappe’s hat-trick was highly anticipated, Real Madrid’s success comes from our overall team effort, not individual brilliance alone.”

Mbappe, who scored 256 goals in 308 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain, downplayed the importance of personal achievements. He shared, “Winning trophies is my ultimate goal. Last season, I finished as the Champions League’s top scorer, but I didn’t win the competition, which shows that team success is what truly matters.”

He added, “I’m willing to score as many goals as possible, but only if they contribute to securing major titles for my new club.”

Looking ahead, Ancelotti admitted that Real Madrid’s earlier struggles this season made their path to the knockout round more challenging. He said, “We faced unnecessary hurdles, but now, we must focus on maintaining our momentum.”

Mbappe voiced a preference for facing Atletico Madrid due to the reduced travel burden, though he acknowledged, “Both teams will be a significant challenge.”

Real Madrid will learn their next opponent in Friday’s draw and will aim for a record-extending 16th Champions League title.
