Leave It to Me: Adeboye Reveals What God Told Him About Abducted Oyo Pupils
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed what he described as a divine assurance concerning the pupils and teachers abducted from schools in Oyo State.

According to the cleric, God instructed him to leave the matter in His hands, assuring him that the release of the captives would be “dramatic.”
Speaking during the US-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala organised by the Save Nigeria Group in Washington, D.C., Adeboye said he turned to God in intense prayer after the abduction and the subsequent killing of one of the victims, a mathematics teacher, Michael Oyedokun.
The cleric recalled that the incident drew widespread criticism from those who questioned the power of prayer, with many asking, “Where is your God?” According to him, those remarks pushed him into deep intercession.
“I cried unto God in agony,” he said, adding that God responded by assuring him that the release of the kidnapped pupils and teachers would be “dramatic.”
Adeboye said he was not told when or how the captives would regain their freedom, but that God specifically instructed him to leave every detail in His hands.
He further disclosed that the same encounter included revelations about those sponsoring terrorism and kidnapping in Nigeria, as well as other developments concerning the country, though he declined to reveal the details.
The abduction occurred on May 15 when armed men attacked Community High School, Ahoro-Esiele, Primary School, Esiele, and Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, taking dozens of pupils and teachers into captivity.
During the ordeal, the kidnappers reportedly beheaded mathematics teacher Michael Oyedokun and circulated a video of the killing.
Adeboye also revisited his earlier appeal to President Bola Tinubu to intensify the fight against terrorism and kidnapping, saying the President acted by directing security chiefs to take decisive steps against the growing insecurity.

Defending the President against critics, the RCCG leader argued that a Commander-in-Chief’s responsibility is to issue clear directives while security agencies carry out the operations, insisting Nigerians should allow the security institutions to discharge their duties.
