34 Nations Book Their Places for the 2026 World Cup
Thirty-four countries have now secured their places at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Germany and the Netherlands becoming the latest to qualify after convincing wins on Monday night.
Germany sealed their ticket with a commanding 6–0 victory over Slovakia at the Red Bull Arena, leaving no doubt about their readiness for next year’s tournament.
The Netherlands followed shortly after, defeating Lithuania 4–0 to confirm their qualification.
The 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States, will feature an expanded lineup of 48 teams, up from the 32 that competed in Qatar. As continental qualifiers continue, the list of confirmed nations is steadily growing.
Below is the updated list of countries that have qualified so far:
Hosts: Canada, Mexico, United States
Asia: Australia, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Uzbekistan
Africa: Algeria, Cape Verde, Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia
Concacaf: None yet
Europe: Croatia, England, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal
Oceania: New Zealand
South America: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay
With qualification entering its final stages, the remaining spots are expected to be hotly contested, especially after several major teams, including Nigeria, failed to make the cut.
