Joshua’s Power Sends Jake Paul to Hospital After Miami Showdown

Jake Paul was taken to hospital on Friday night after suffering a suspected jaw fracture in his defeat to former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in Miami.

The six-round bout ended with Joshua’s experience, size and punching power proving too much for the YouTuber-turned-boxer, who showed grit but struggled to cope with the physical demands of the contest.

Paul, 28, raised concerns about a possible broken jaw shortly after the fight. His promoter, Nakisa Bidarian, later confirmed that medical checks were ongoing, adding that recovery could keep the American out of action for between four and six weeks.

Despite the injury, Paul remained upbeat while addressing the media. He described the fight as enjoyable and reaffirmed his commitment to boxing, even sharing images and videos on social media that showed the toll the clash had taken on him.
“I feel good. It was fun, and I truly love this sport,” Paul said.

Looking ahead, the former cruiserweight contender said he plans to take time off to heal before returning to the ring, insisting his long-term ambition of competing for a world title remains unchanged.

“We’ll fix the jaw and come back stronger. I’ll focus on opponents in my weight class. Anthony Joshua is a great champion. Losing is part of boxing, but I’m not done,” he stated.

Paul also admitted that fatigue played a decisive role in his loss, explaining that managing Joshua’s size drained his energy as the fight progressed.

“I got tired trying to deal with his weight and strength. With better conditioning, I believe I could have gone longer. I gave it everything,” he added.

The bout had generated massive attention ahead of fight night, with fans divided over whether Paul’s rise in professional boxing could withstand a test against an elite heavyweight like Joshua.

In the end, the former world champion delivered a clear reminder of the gap between seasoned top-level fighters and crossover stars still finding their footing in the sport.
