The scaremongering opposition Patriotic Front -PF- has continued to accuse the ruling United Party for National Development -UPND- of scheming to destroy the opposition ahead of the 2026 general elections, which the former ruling party says it will win.
Speaking during a grassroot meeting in Kingovwa village, Mushindamo district of Northwestern province, PF vice president Given Lubinda said his party will not die but will live on until it unseats Republican President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND in 2026.
Lubinda said President Hichilema will be a one term leader because of lies he is peddling with his part ranks.
According to the opposition vice president, Zambians will remember the PF in 2026 because it scattered development across the country during its 10-year period in government.
“President Hichilema does not believe that he won the elections. He still thinks he is still in opposition. PF will not die because it is different from the MMD and UNIP. UNIP was a liberation movement and not an opposition party same with the MMD, ” Lubinda said.
“PF was formed in 2001 and formed Government after ten years and back into opposition. It was God’s will that PF has gone in opposition once again and it was done so that people appreciate that PF is the only progressive party. UPND will be a one term party because in 2026 Zambians will remember PF as a party that brought development and will realize that the UPND are a bunch of liars.”
The ever-shrinking PF suffered a humiliating defeat during the August 12 general elections, which ashered President Hichilema’s UPND into power after 23 years of being in opposition.
