Sheikh Gumi recently claimed that entrusting Nigeria’s national security to Christians and Southerners was dangerous and suggested President Bola Tinubu’s eight-year service would be hindered. In response, Femi Fani-Kayode, an APC member, criticized Gumi for his remarks. Fani-Kayode disapproved of the Federal Capital Territory Minister’s collaboration with Israel on security and stressed that Christians in Nigeria wouldn’t submit to such divisive rhetoric. He also reminded Gumi of his father’s vow not to witness a Christian president in Nigeria. Fani-Kayode highlighted the presence of God-fearing Muslims throughout the country and distanced himself from the government’s handling of the situation.
