Passengers faced delays and disruptions at Port Harcourt International Airport due to protests by Omagwa and Ipo communities in Rivers State.

These communities, hosting the airport, demanded compensation for enduring over a decade of blackout and noise pollution. The protest, starting early in the morning, led to barricades, hampering flight operations and causing traffic jams. Demonstrators voiced frustration over neglect by airport authorities despite suffering from environmental and infrastructural issues.
