The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revealed the top 10 wealthiest African countries by GDP per capita for the year 2024 with Mauritius toping the list with a GDP per capita of $31,157, followed by Libya and Botswana in second and third place, respectively.

Gabon and Egypt secure the fourth and fifth positions, while Equatorial Guinea and South Africa claim the sixth and seventh spots. Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco round out the top 10, with Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy, notably absent from the list.

The rankings shed light on the economic landscape of African nations, highlighting those with the highest GDP per capita and providing insights into their economic development and prosperity.
