Three black men have filed a lawsuit against American Airlines, alleging racial discrimination after being removed from a flight due to complaints of body odour.
The incident occurred on January 5, when Alvin Jackson, Emmanuel Jean Joseph, and Xavier Veal were asked to leave the flight from Phoenix to New York. The men, who did not know each other and were not seated together, claimed that the real reason for their removal was racial discrimination, as all black passengers on the flight were targeted.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for the trauma experienced by the plaintiffs. American Airlines is currently investigating the incident.
