Burna Boy Joins Shakira for Official 2026 FIFA World Cup Anthem
Nigerian music star Burna Boy is set to take the global stage once again after being unveiled as one of the featured artistes on the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Grammy-winning Afrobeats sensation will collaborate with Colombian pop icon Shakira on the tournament’s official song titled Dai Dai, which is scheduled for release on May 14.
The announcement was made by Shakira through social media, where she teased the upcoming track and confirmed Burna Boy’s involvement in the highly anticipated project.
The collaboration marks another major milestone for Nigerian music on the world stage and continues the growing presence of Afrobeats in international sporting events.
It also makes Burna Boy the second consecutive Nigerian artiste to feature on an official World Cup soundtrack, following Davido’s appearance on the 2022 FIFA World Cup song Hayya Hayya (Better Together).
The 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States, with the tournament expected to run from June 11 to July 19.
With Burna Boy and Shakira joining forces, anticipation is already building around what could become one of the tournament’s defining anthems.
