Olayemi Cardoso, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), reaffirmed the CBN’s commitment to reducing inflation and positively impacting people’s lives during his leadership. He discussed this during a meeting with the Impact Investing Community, led by Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 14th Emir of Kano and former CBN governor. Sanusi expressed concerns about high inflation rates and urged the new CBN leadership to address this issue. Cardoso thanked the Impact Investing Community for their visit and their potential to transform Nigeria’s economy. Khalifa Sanusi emphasized the CBN’s actions’ impact on Nigerians’ lives and urged long-term planning, particularly in agriculture and education. Ibukun Awosika, Chair of Impact Investing, expressed their support for improving Nigeria’s investment climate and redirecting resources for positive impact. Dr. Bala Bello, the deputy governor, highlighted the importance of investment and global shifts toward social investment and stressed collaboration and effective communication to overcome the country’s challenges.
