Asari Dokubo accused Tinubu of making appointments resembling his time as the governor of Lagos State and called for a reconsideration of these appointments to ensure balance. Dokubo expressed concerns that these imbalanced appointments might alienate those who supported Tinubu in the 2023 elections despite his Muslim-Muslim ticket. He also highlighted that if Tinubu doesn’t adjust his appointments, his hardcore supporters, including Dokubo himself, may withdraw their support. He emphasized that Tinubu should not assume he can replicate the approach of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who made lopsided appointments but had a strong following. Dokubo argued that those benefiting from Tinubu’s appointments did not support him during the elections, neglecting loyal supporters like himself who worked tirelessly to help Tinubu achieve the presidency.
