In a harrowing incident, wedding guests traveling to a traditional ceremony in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State were abducted by gunmen identified as Fulani herdsmen carrying AK-49 assault rifles.
The victims, including Ikenna Diugwu, criticized the Enugu State Police Command for denying the abduction, revealing they were held captive for three days in the bush, enduring starvation and physical abuse. Diugwu stated his family paid a ransom of N2 million to secure their release, highlighting the concerning security situation in Enugu.
