NIGERIA: Tinubu’s Unveils a Disquieting Response to National Turmoil

President Tinubu has criticized the nationwide strike led by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), calling it an abuse of privilege. The government asserts that the strike, initiated over a personal issue despite a court order, is illegal and irresponsible. The Special Adviser to the President, Bayo Onanuga, emphasized that the national economy and social activities should not suffer due to the personal interests of labour leaders. The government condemns the disobedience to court orders and questions the motive behind the strike, deeming it unacceptable and potentially disruptive.
