Nollywood Star Zubby Michael Joins ADC, Declares House of Reps Ambition in Anambra
Popular Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and announced his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The actor made his declaration on Saturday in Ozubulu Ward 5, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, where he also completed his registration with the party.
Zubby is seeking to represent the Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, a key political bloc in the state.
His move comes shortly after earlier reports linked him with the All Progressives Congress (APC), making his decision to align with the ADC a notable shift.
The development highlights ongoing realignments among public figures in the South-East as political activities gradually build toward 2027.
In recent months, several entertainers and influencers in the region have thrown their weight behind President Bola Tinubu, forming support groups within the APC.
However, Zubby’s decision to join an opposition platform sets him apart and could influence political conversations, particularly among younger voters.
His entry into the race reflects the growing involvement of celebrities in Nigeria’s political space, where name recognition and grassroots appeal are becoming increasingly significant.
