Pop star Rihanna was present in the courtroom on Wednesday as her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, faces trial for felony assault charges in Los Angeles.

The case revolves around a November 2021 shooting incident where A$AP Rocky allegedly pulled a gun and fired at his former friend, Terell Ephron (aka A$AP Relli), following a heated argument. Ephron, who is the key witness, claims that he was grazed by a bullet during the altercation.

A$AP Rocky has pleaded not guilty, and his defense argues that the weapon was a prop and that Ephron is pursuing a financial motive. The trial, which started on January 24, could lead to a prison sentence of up to 24 years.

Rihanna’s presence in court drew significant attention, although she entered discreetly and did not appear on camera.
