The truth is, life can be exhausting. We all have a lot of demands, responsibilities, and commitments that often seem all too overwhelming. When it comes to romantic relationships, it’s likely that we don’t want to commit any more of our energy to another person. “Don’t be someone’s sometimes” is an important reminder that relationships take effort and consistency to be successful.

When two people are committed to one another, they often make a conscious decision to cultivate their relationship, but sometimes, a person may be purely a “sometimes”. This type of relationship is when a person allows their partner to come and go as they please, often without putting forth the effort to maintain the relationship. In these situations, people place themselves in roles that aren’t mutually beneficial, such as sacrificing one-sided for their partner’s needs and desires.

For a relationship to work, both individuals involved must have a consistent level of commitment and respect for each other. This means compromising on things both of you find important, as well as taking time to nurture the relationship. When someone knows that their partner will never waiver from their commitment, they can trust them and feel secure in the relationship. This creates a strong bond between the two of that allows for greater understanding and growth.

In the same way, when someone is only a “sometimes” in the relationship, it shows a lack of respect and commitment to their partner and the relationship. There is a difference between taking some personal time and space to refresh, and choosing to go your separate ways whenever it suits your needs. The person not being consistent in the relationship can lead to feelings of resentment and neglect as they are not meeting their partner’s wants and needs. Unsurprisingly, this can lead to more serious issues such as mistrust, lack of communication, and even the end of the relationship.

When it comes to relationships, “Don’t be someone’s sometimes” is an important reminder that relationships take effort and consistency to be successful. It’s important for both parties to be committed to the relationship and make an effort to nurture it. Both people should invest their time, effort, and energy into making things work, as this is essential for long-term success and happiness. If someone is truly ready for a meaningful relationship, they must be willing to invest in their partner and the relationship, and show consistency in their commitment.
