Roberto Pruzzo, former AS Roma striker and club legend, has weighed in on the growing speculation about Victor Osimhen’s future, suggesting that the Nigerian forward is likely to join Juventus next season.
This comes as rumors swirl about Osimhen’s next destination amid his impressive performances on loan at Galatasaray. Osimhen, currently playing for the Turkish side after leaving Napoli, has been in stellar form this season. However, whispers of a potential return to Serie A have intensified.
Pruzzo, who is an AS Roma Hall of Famer, shared on Radio Radio via TMW that a trusted source close to Osimhen’s inner circle revealed the player’s move to Juventus is almost certain.
“I’ve been informed by a reliable contact in Florence that Osimhen will be the next Juventus striker. They’re confident it’s a done deal,” Pruzzo stated. The 26-year-old striker had a busy summer with rumors circulating about a possible transfer after a phenomenal season at Napoli.
While he attracted attention from top clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Al-Ahli, he ended up joining Galatasaray on loan in September 2024. Since his arrival in Turkey, Osimhen has been in sensational form, scoring 22 goals and providing 5 assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.
His remarkable tally includes 16 goals in 20 Super Lig matches and 6 more in the Europa League, making him one of Europe’s most prolific forwards this season.
Given his dazzling performances, clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal are again eyeing the Nigerian striker. Yet, Pruzzo’s comments suggest that Osimhen may be leaning towards a move back to Italy, with Juventus emerging as the frontrunner.
Earlier this year, Juventus had expressed interest in Osimhen, but reports indicated they had cooled their pursuit. Pruzzo’s latest statement seems to revive those rumors, sparking renewed optimism among Juventus supporters.
Napoli, who retain Osimhen’s rights until 2026, are reportedly seeking around €70-75 million for his permanent transfer. Galatasaray is also eager to keep him but may struggle to compete if Juventus steps up their efforts.
Giovanni Manna, Napoli’s sporting director, has emphasized that the club aims to avoid another drawn-out transfer saga, like the one last summer.
“It’s true that Victor Osimhen has a release clause, and we are working to resolve his future early to prevent another last-minute transfer like last summer,” Manna commented.
Despite Juventus’ strong pull as one of Italy’s most prestigious clubs, Osimhen’s return to Serie A is far from a certainty. The Super Eagles star has made it clear that his focus remains on helping Galatasaray defend their Super Lig title, with any decisions about his future postponed until the summer.
Given Osimhen’s admiration for the English Premier League, a move to England is still a possibility. He has openly expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, is a Manchester United fan, and has long looked up to Chelsea legends Didier Drogba and John Mikel Obi.
As the future of one of Europe’s most exciting talents remains up in the air, top clubs are closely monitoring Osimhen’s situation, eager to secure his signature.
The striker’s next move could be one of the most anticipated transfers of the year.
