10-Man USA Knock Bosnia Out After Balogun Red Card
The United States overcame a second-half setback to defeat Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 and book a place in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite playing with 10 men.

The hosts made a bright start and were rewarded just before halftime when Folarin Balogun fired home to hand the Americans a deserved lead.
Bosnia returned from the break determined to turn the game around and gained a major advantage in the 64th minute after Balogun was shown a red card, reducing the United States to 10 players.
With the numerical advantage, Bosnia piled on the pressure and created several scoring opportunities, but the American defence stood firm while the goalkeeper produced a series of crucial saves to preserve the lead.
Any hopes of a Bosnia comeback were dashed in the 82nd minute when Malik Tillman curled a superb free-kick into the net to double the hosts’ advantage and put the result beyond doubt.
The victory sends the United States into the knockout stage of the tournament, where they will face Belgium in the Round of 16.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, meanwhile, exit the competition after failing to capitalize on their one-man advantage.
