Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has responded to Chief Nyesom Wike’s criticisms of his administration, asserting that he has accomplished what Wike did in eight years within just one year. Speaking at an Independence Day church service, Fubara emphasized his commitment to good governance, stating, “Nobody can turn Rivers State to his personal enterprise.”
He highlighted ongoing projects, including a N200 billion loan for the Port Harcourt Ring Road and a N225 billion Trans-Kalabari Road project, insisting that these initiatives belong to his administration. Fubara also addressed the challenges faced by the state, including economic sabotage through oil bunkering, calling for community cooperation to combat the issue.
He reaffirmed his allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while urging a peaceful local government election. He concluded by urging unity among Rivers people, stating, “Rivers State is nobody’s enterprise.”
