Two stories have dominated the local press in Uganda; the abduction of Kizza Besigye, one of the country’s top opposition leaders, and revelations that the central bank lost about $16m.

Besigye was abducted in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, on 23 November, driven to Uganda‘s capital Kampala, and charged in a military court days later.
