Mid-Air Tension as VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof Clash on Commercial Flight [VIDEO]
A video circulating on social media has shown social critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, widely known as Mr Jollof, engaging in a physical fight aboard a commercial flight.
The altercation reportedly occurred on a United Nigeria Airlines flight travelling from Asaba, Delta State, to Lagos.
The footage captures both men trading blows while visibly distressed passengers attempt to break up the fight. Comedian Funny Bone, who was also on the flight, is seen helping to separate the pair during the scuffle.
The incident has attracted widespread attention due to the long-standing tension between the two men.
Their feud, which has played out publicly across social media platforms, escalated months earlier after VDM accused Mr Jollof’s wife of being involved with internet fraudsters—a claim that triggered intense public exchanges.
Responding to the mid-air incident, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Michael Achimugu, issued a statement on X calling for detailed information to support an official inquiry.
He wrote:
“If you are kind enough to provide the name of the airline in whose aircraft this incident occurred, and the date, it would help investigations.”
The video has renewed conversations around aviation conduct in Nigeria and the extent to which online disputes are spilling into public spaces.
