Operation Dudula Pushes On With G20 Protests Despite Police Clash
Operation Dudula has vowed to continue its demonstrations outside the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, even after a tense face-off with the police.
The group gathered near the Nasrec Expo Centre, where world leaders are meeting for the two-day summit, insisting that their voices must be heard.
Their leader, Zandile Dabula, said the confrontation with law enforcement would not stop their movement.
According to the group, South Africa should focus less on global events and more on challenges affecting local citizens, especially illegal immigration and unemployment.
They argue that these issues are being ignored while the government hosts high-profile international gatherings.
Police have already opened a criminal case against the organisation following Saturday’s disruption.
Dabula confirmed that the group will resume its protest on Sunday, saying South Africans are frustrated and feel neglected by the government.
She added that their demonstrations will continue until authorities take meaningful action. “We’re not going to stop,” she said. “People are angry and tired, and the president is not addressing this issue.”
