Public servants commend Sanwo-Olu for bonus package

The Lagos State Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (JNC), Trade Union side, has commended the state Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for approving and implementing a 100 per cent end-of-year bonus for the state public servants.

The council also commended the governor for presenting car gifts to outstanding officers.

The council’s Chairman, Mr Michael Adeleke, and Secretary, Mr Biodun Bakare, gave the commendation in a statement on Saturday.

The duo described the gesture as landmark milestone that reaffirmed the governor’s unwavering dedication to public sector welfare, productivity, and motivation.

The duo further described the car awards as a strategic incentive to reward merit, deepen innovation, and reinforce a culture of excellence, accountability, and service delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The leaders said that the bonus would be paid in two tranches—50 per cent with the December 2025 salary and 50 per cent with the January 2026 salary.

According to them, the structure reflects a thoughtful response to current economic realities and a deliberate effort to provide financial relief during the festive season and into the new year.

“These interventions go beyond routine administrative decisions and represent morale-boosting measures capable of strengthening industrial harmony, loyalty, and performance.

“The council reaffirms that the development underscores the value of constructive engagement and sustained social dialogue between the Lagos State Government and organised labour, “ the leaders said.

The council pledged continued partnership with Sanwo-Olu administration to advance policies that enhance workers’ welfare and improve service outcomes.

It urged all public servants to reciprocate the governor’s gestures with renewed professionalism, commitment, and dedication in service to the people of Lagos State.
