Strike Us, Expect Fire Back: Saudi Arabia Signals Readiness for Military Showdown with Iran

Tensions in the Gulf have taken a sharper turn as Saudi Arabia warned it may respond with force to what it describes as sustained attacks linked to Iran.

Speaking after a high-level meeting of Arab and Islamic foreign ministers in Riyadh, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud made it clear that the kingdom is keeping all options open, including military action.

He said repeated missile and drone incidents targeting Saudi territory point to a deliberate attempt by Tehran to intimidate its neighbours.

According to Saudi authorities, fresh attacks were recorded midweek, with air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles over the capital.

Explosions were reported in Riyadh as regional diplomats were gathered for talks on the widening Middle East conflict—an incident the minister described as a direct signal that Iran is unwilling to pursue diplomacy.

Riyadh has also accused Tehran of striking civilian infrastructure across the Gulf, including energy facilities and residential areas.

Officials dismissed Iran’s claim that its operations are aimed at US interests in the region, insisting such justification does not hold.

At the close of the meeting, participating countries issued a joint condemnation of the attacks, describing them as unjustifiable and a threat to regional stability.

They reaffirmed the right of nations to defend themselves and urged Iran to halt further strikes immediately.

Saudi Arabia’s warning underscores growing fears that the conflict could expand beyond proxy confrontations into a more direct military clash, with the potential to destabilise the wider region.
