Iran Missiles Hit Israel, Sirens Wail Across Cities
Air raid sirens sounded across several parts of Israel on Thursday after Iran launched multiple waves of missiles, according to the Israeli military. The incoming projectiles were largely intercepted, but falling debris caused injuries and damage in some areas.
Emergency service Magen David Adom said at least seven people were wounded by shrapnel from intercepted missiles. The attacks triggered alerts in major locations including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, and parts of the occupied West Bank.
Residents in Tel Aviv reported hearing explosions early in the day, with damage recorded in residential areas after missile fragments struck buildings. Emergency responders were deployed to affected sites to assist victims and assess destruction.
In Kafr Qassem, several homes were damaged, with local officials linking the impact to cluster munitions.
Six of the injured were reported in the city, while one person was wounded in Tel Aviv. Scenes from the area showed a large crater and overturned vehicles following the blast.
The latest strikes came hours after earlier missile activity, marking a continued escalation. Overnight, rockets were also fired from Lebanon, with the Iran-backed Hezbollah claiming responsibility for targeting Israeli positions. Israeli authorities said most of the rockets were intercepted.
The Israeli military also confirmed that a soldier was killed during operations in southern Lebanon, where fighting has intensified since the conflict began in late February.
