Ghana name 26-man World Cup squad for North America
Ghana national football team have unveiled their 26-man squad ahead of the FIFA World Cup, confirming their final selection as preparations intensify for the tournament in North America.
The competition, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, begins on June 11, with Ghana opening their Group L campaign against Panama six days after kickoff.
The group also includes England and Croatia, presenting a difficult pathway from the start.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz has combined experience and youth in his squad, with Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo and former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey among the headline inclusions.
Jordan Ayew will captain the side, bringing leadership to a team aiming to make a strong impact at their fifth World Cup appearance.
Mohammed Kudus misses out due to illness, a setback for Ghana’s attacking options, though the squad still features depth across midfield and attack.
The Black Stars will complete their final tune-up with a friendly against Wales in Cardiff before heading to North America for the tournament.
