A team of Canadian investigators is currently in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, to probe the recent explosion at the Canadian High Commission in Nigeria. The incident, which occurred on November 6, resulted in two fatalities and injuries to two individuals.
Following the incident, the High Commission temporarily suspended its operations, but assured that its visa application centers in Lagos and Abuja would remain functional.
As disclosed by Demilade Kosemani, a statement from the Public Affairs staff of the commission highlighted that the Canadian investigative team will collaborate with Nigerian authorities to conduct a formal investigation into the explosion.
“Efforts are being undertaken to coordinate the work of the Canadian investigation team with the relevant Nigerian authorities in line with their respective mandates,” the statement read.
