NIGERIA: Zenith Bank Names Adaora Umeoji First Female CEO

Zenith Bank Plc has appointed Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji, OON, as its Group Managing Director/Chief Executive, effective June 1, 2024, pending Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) approval.

Umeoji, the bank’s first female CEO, succeeds Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, marking a significant milestone. With nearly thirty years of banking experience, including as the Deputy Managing Director since 2016, Umeoji’s appointment underscores Zenith Bank’s commitment to internal talent development and diversity.

Her extensive qualifications, including degrees from prestigious institutions and recognition for her humanitarian work, position her to lead the bank into a new era of growth and innovation.
