As President Felix Tshisekedi prepares for his second term in office in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), three presidential candidates, officially contesting the election results, have called upon their supporters to demonstrate their discontent on Saturday, January 20.
Among these candidates is Moise Katumbi, a prominent businessman and former governor of the central Katanga region.
Katumbi’s influence and regional standing have added weight to the discontent expressed by Martin Fayulu, who claims to have been robbed of victory in the 2018 presidential election.
The trio is completed by Floribert Anzuluni, a former banking executive.
The inauguration ceremony for President Tshisekedi is slated to take place in Kinshasa, marking the commencement of his second term.
