FOREIGN: Portuguese Captain, Christiana Ronaldo Risks Iran Punishment

Christiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese captain, could face punishment in Iran for an incident in which he hugged and kissed a fan, artist Fatima, during a visit for a soccer match in September. This act is deemed a violation of Iranian law, and he may potentially face 99 lashes, although he has not been formally charged at this time. Ronaldo is presently with the Portugal national team for EURO qualifiers against Slovakia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
