Jinja Area Holds Handover Meeting to Welcome New General Manager and Bid Farewell to Outgoing Leader

Jinja, 4th June 2025 — The Human Resources team, together with the top management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), convened a formal handover meeting in Jinja to mark the transition of leadership in the Area.

The meeting was held to officially bid farewell to the outgoing General Manager, Dr. Charles Okuonzi, who has been appointed as Senior Director, Financial Services at NWSC Headquarters, and to warmly welcome the new General Manager, Eng. Badru Wandrwasi.

The event commenced with self-introductions from all attendees, setting a cordial tone for the proceedings. The HR representative then provided an overview of the purpose of the meeting, emphasizing its importance in ensuring a smooth leadership transition and continuity of service delivery.

In his farewell remarks, Dr. Okuonzi reflected on his impactful journey with the Corporation, expressing gratitude for the unwavering support he received from the Jinja team throughout his tenure. He encouraged all staff to remain committed and dedicated to their roles, underscoring the importance of teamwork and shared goals in driving the success of NWSC.

Eng. Wandrwasi, in his inaugural address, extended his appreciation to Dr. Okuonzi for his exemplary leadership and significant contributions to the growth and development of the Jinja Area. He commended the staff for their resilience, hard work, and cooperation, and called on them to maintain the same level of dedication as the team embarks on a new chapter under his stewardship.

The meeting concluded with prayers for Dr. Okuonzi as he assumes his new role, as well as for continued unity, diligence, and effective leadership within the Corporation.

The NWSC Jinja Area remains committed to delivering quality water and sanitation services, and this seamless transition in leadership is a testament to the organization’s strength and stability.
