Mrs. Sarat Braimah, the Lagos Area Manager of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), has been honored with the prestigious Most Influential Woman Award by the Commonwealth Business Women Africa (CBW-Africa).
This announcement was made by Mr. Frank Meke, the Media Consultant to the Lagos Area Manager, on Tuesday in Lagos.
“The award acknowledges her significant contributions to the maritime sector,” Mr. Meke stated. “It also celebrates her as a role model for young women in Nigeria and highlights her outstanding human resource management skills as the first female Area Manager of NIWA in Lagos.”
He continued, “Braimah’s transformative achievements at NIWA have earned her the respect and admiration of industry stakeholders and NIWA’s management.”
During her acceptance speech at the Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Braimah expressed her gratitude for the recognition.
She shared, “I am truly honored to receive this award. I hope to continue inspiring young people, especially women, to embrace the maritime industry, not just in Nigeria, but across the globe.”
“Thank you, CBW-Africa. I pray that Nigerian and African women in service remain steadfast and resilient. Nigeria needs our women, and I hope they will always lead with strength and positivity,” she concluded.
