Mrs. Soludo gives Ekwunife 72 hours to retract allegations or face legal action
Wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to former Sen. Uche Ekwunife, demanding a public apology and retraction of what she described as ‘malicious and fabricated lies’ targeted at her family or face legal consequences.
In a statement released on Saturday in Awka, Soludo accused Ekwunife of crossing a ‘Red line’ by dragging her children into political disputes.
“My weapons are decency, character and grace. In all my life, I have lived an incredibly quiet family life, shunning publicity.
“One of the reasons I hate politics is precisely the kind of shameless obscenities from Uche Ekwunife in the name of politics.
Soludo expressed disappointment over the personal nature of the attacks, especially given her past acquaintance with Ekwunife.
“I will still, as a Christian, give Ekwunife a chance to repent and ensure restitution by recanting her malicious allegations within 72 hours and tendering an unreserved apology.
“Take note, Uche Ekwunife, that if you fail to do so, I will take every step necessary to ensure justice and restitution. My lawyers have also been put on notice,” she said.
Soludo challenged Ekwunife to publicly swear an oath of fidelity and chastity before the Blessed Sacrament, asserting their respective marital faithfulness.
Additionally, she called for both parties to undergo paternity tests for their children at three separate hospitals in London, offering to cover the full costs.
Ekwunife is the current Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC)in the Nov. 8 governorship election in Anambra.
The controversy began after a viral clip surfaced in which Ekwunife allegedly claimed Mrs. Soludo had close personal ties and working relationships with former Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju.
As of the time of this report, Ekwunife has not issued a public response.
