A disturbing incident has shaken Ogun State, Nigeria, after a headmaster, Ashafa Afelaja, was arrested for allegedly sodomizing a female student. The victim suffered severe injuries, including a damaged fistula that resulted in bleeding.
The perpetrator’s arrest was made possible by human rights activist Adetoun Onajobi, who brought the incident to the state government’s attention via Instagram.
Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, confirmed the arrest and ensured the victim is receiving necessary medical care and psychological support.
The Ogun State government has maintained a zero-tolerance policy for gender-based violence, child abuse, and domestic abuse.
This incident highlights the need for increased vigilance and reporting of child abuse and domestic violence cases. The public is urged to report any incidents of human maltreatment to the authorities immediately.
