The Nigerian government has stated that President Bola Tinubu remains undistracted by the recent formation of an opposition coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement released on July 8, 2025, Information and National Orientation Minister, Mohammed Idris, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to reforms and its goal of spurring economic growth.
While acknowledging the right of Nigerians to voice their political opinions, Idris emphasized that the President would not allow such political developments to derail his government’s agenda.
The statement pointed to the achievements under President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, which has been in place for two years. Notable successes included a reduction in crude oil theft, increased investor confidence, a more stable naira, and progress in tackling security challenges.
Additionally, key reforms such as the passage of tax overhaul bills and the initiation of large-scale agricultural mechanization were highlighted as clear indicators of transformative progress.
Despite opposition groups’ efforts to redirect national attention, the government reiterated its resolve to continue pursuing policies that promote prosperity for all Nigerians, remaining steadfast in its mission to enhance the nation’s growth and stability.
